This book was used by Engels to write his book:
The Origin of the Family, Private Property and the State

a real masterpiece, I advise everyone to read it.

I am reading this book and its really good, the author's approach is materialist 100% and although the book is long, it's very easy to read and understand. There is some element of repetation in the book, but its very easy to decide which chapters to read. I found the following really fascinating:
Chapter VII. The Aztec Confederacy
It seems that there was never an Aztec 'empire', the spanish made it up, although the book is over 100 years old this mistake is still propegated today.
