As those of us in the USA can clearly see, the government is encouraging hatred toward non-heterosexuals by making their evil "Defintion of marrige" known to all, and their intention to amend it into their Constitution. This is all a part of a reactionary religious revival. So-called Christianity calls for hatred of non-heterosexuals, and Bush keeps using "God bless America" as his slogan.
As Alan Woods pointed out, the so-called invinciblity of the USA came crashing down in smoke and twisted metal after a few Taliban suicide pilots killed innocents in the World Trade Center (WTC). Instead of honoring those innocents that parished in that sick-minded attack, the USA has been using those innocents as an excuse for imperialism.
The fact is that the US elite are in a shock today, and if a few puny Taliban kamikazes can do so much damage, they don't even want to know what a full-blown Socialist revoution could do. This reactionary religious revival is a part of the reactionary polices of the US government, which has been sliding further down the right wing for a couple of years now, especially with the Big Brother, ahem, PATRIOT Act. Religious revival has been used by past elites to keep class consciousness down, just like how "miracles" in France were staged after there was a shock among the elite after the rise and fall of the Paris Commune.
This reactionary religious revival is the real reason why non-heterosexuals are hated so much all of a sudden. The so-called Christian religion considers homosexuality an evil sin. The US elite wants to appeal to all of the so-called Christians so that they can use reactionary policies to mow down the already low class consciousness over here in the USA. The motives for suppressing homosexuals are clearly religious ones, and the reactionary religious revival is the root of this.
