Can anyone explain to me the situation of the russian communist party ?(still stalinist ? and his popularity,the elections...)

The KPRF is an interesting party in that it remains at once Stalinist, Reformist, and Nationalist, although I do believe it to be a fairly popular party still (2nd or third), The main issue with it would probably be that it is led by Nationalists who are very likely not Communists at all, while having a devoted core of Stalinists and Reformists in the party as well, just not as large as the "Popular-Patriotic" group which dominates everything..it also has the strange habit of supporting billionaire Capitalists for office..which seems very..un-Communistic to me.
