To all here at the the YFIS discussion board: In reply to an excellent article on the follies of Makhno during the Russia Civil War (Titled “The Makhno Myth”), from the International Socialist Review (the main organ of the ISO) the Anarchist muppets at www.syndicalist.org have issued a typically polemical and noisy reply: an article, titled “On the Bolshevik Myth: A Response to the International Socialist Review.” This article chiefly offers, as a rebuttal, a slew of attacks upon Soviet Russia, and the Bolshevik tradition we cherish. I feel that it is imperative that, given the long-winded and cosmetically well-researched nature of this Anarchist propaganda, we should make it a point of principle to produce a reply of equal (if not superior) quality. As I am a newcomer to Bolshevism, I strongly urge all veterans, of skill in the history of Soviet Russia, of this discussion board to help me in putting together a reply. In the spirit of irony and sarcasm, I propose that this reply-to-be be titled “Syndicalist.org Protests Too Much” (playing on Emma Goldman’s puerile response to Trotsky’s defense of the measures taken at Kronstadt). Again, I strongly urge all veterans in the vicinity to rally to this defense of the memory of 1917. Below, I have included a link to the article. Please post. http://www.syndicalist.org/archives/asr41-50/McKay47.shtml

Maybe someone will feel the need to respond at length to their article, but I am not one of them since I'm not fired up or worried about what it is they are saying. I read the first several paragraphs of the article, and it began more or less by laying blame on Marxists for taking their "best ideas, experiments and activists." This is funny to me because Anarchists and Marxists have many shared goals, so it is completely understandable and desirable for each to have a positive view of activities performed in the name of those shared goals no matter what political ideology they are performed in the name of. For this group to not like that fact only serves to hurt whatever cause they are focused on.

There's a good chance the ISR will respond to this -- I'll e-mail them about it.
