> 1. Free and democratic elections with right of recall of all officials. How will this happen or who will see to it that this happens? > 2. No official must receive a higher wage than a skilled worker. What is to stop someone giving money to them or the official getting money from some where? > 3. No standing army but the armed people. What is to stop a country taking over? > 4. Gradually, all the tasks of running the state should be carried out by the masses on a rotating basis. When everybody is a bureaucrat in turn, nobody is a bureaucrat. Or, as Lenin put it, "Any cook should be able to be prime minister." You mean the people the working class run and own every thing and how will this happen and who will make sure there is no corruption ?

You've hit the nail on the head, fire_mat99. All of your questions regard the implementation of theory into practice. We have blueprints but the house isn't yet built.
One can deal with different factors in history -- or in a possible future -- by seeing them as variables, or parameters. All of the questions you pose should be taken into consideration by everyone who participates -- I think that's where we can begin to realize some larger benefits of using a discussion board.

I agree with your definition of a planned and "free" economy, and i also agree with that a planned economy is not only more efficient, but produces more overtime for the more workers and land they get in workers hands. Or that the workers and land/industry are placed in the same location to work together and generate more goods for the more land and workers that are added to it.

All,
No offense to posters or the discussion board, but I've since moved over to RevLeft.com for political discussions -- it's far more active over there....
Chris
Hay Chris there is really only 10 members here and 5 who are more active here. The others have not long in for years. Many join and post and than never come back. Some days there is more posts than it is slow and comes and goes in waves. Well RevLeft is good but there is too many anarchists and militants there and aggressive posters.Like thay may say the goveremt or police are bad but not say why.Any socialist I talk to can say why or go in to more detail and explain. Has now there is not many posts but 4 days ago there was more posts it is like that.It is too bad there are not more members here and people posting more. There are lots of threads but no one talking.
