Perhaps we should get a section dedicated for study groups via the board. Have all those interested decide a book to read. Read it and discuss it chapter by chapter or however the book is formated.

Just a thought. Would be helpful, especially for those comrades wishing to learn a little something something. Doesnt have to be long ethier, could very well be a little informative phamplet.

I think that's a very good idea.  I'd like to see this board used for educational purposes.  Right now, I think it's pretty much a waste of time to try to educate yourself by going here.

Chalk me up for film discussions -- off the top of my head I can think of:

Bread and Roses, Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie, Matewan, Buffalo Soldiers, Unprecedented (stolen election of 2000), El Norte, Land and Freedom, Emerald Forest, Zardoz, ...

(I'll post a longer list if anyone's interested....)

I feel that this is a great idea, and that comrades should participate in such groups.  Unfortunately, I probably won't have time to participate in such a group, as my lack of spare time will make me take much longer to finish a work.

Ill help and post the first book.
Utopia, by thomanse more

Book 1)

Thomas more explains that he has gone on a diplomatic travel to talk to the prince of Portugal for the king of england, and then he goes back home and one of his friends decides to tell him of one of his travels to a island called Utopia.

Book 2)

In this book, thomas mores friend explains the islands politics, economics, art, religion, and civil life.
Take a look at this link for any questions:

http://oregonstate.edu/instruct/phl302/texts/more/utopia-contents.html

He explains a way of life that seems perfect and the islands history, from its barbaric times to when Utopus conquered it and started to build the island and brought the people to a civil and social level above all others.
