Marxism and the USA
« on: July 13, 2005, 09:53:38 PM »

Marxism and the USA has finally been finished printing is ready to be read by all you comrades. This is the first book the WIL was able to finacially support themselves. :)

I encourage ev ery American to read this book and learn our own history.  This is our history, our organization, and our future.  We need to learn about the truly exemplary revolutionary history of the U.S. and use it as a lever to explain to people that our ideas are not "alien" and "foreign" - but reflect the greatest traditions of the American working class and oppressed in general.

Of course comrades who do not live in America should also check out this new book by Alan Woods. Especially those under the influence that America is and has been reactionary through and through.

The author also wrote a book about Ireland that was interesting. I 'll have to check this one out.

I finished reading this awhile ago. Good read. Lots of interesting information in this book despite it's small size.

I was also able to help a contact with some information about the American Revolution using passages and qoutes from this book.

I should check into this work.  I have had intentions for doing as such for quite some time, but I have been busy between work, college, and brushing up on my reading of Lenin's works.

That is intersting how you managed to get a contact with information from this work.  I hope that some similiar things can help me do as such as well (hopefully I will be able to start trying to get contacts and such sometime soon, given that it won't be too long before my schedule starts clearing up, probably sometime this December).

Its worth spending sometime reading the 146 page book. Short easy read, but VERY informative. Plus the extra "If America Should Go Communist" by Leon Trotsky and a letter ofKarl Marx's writings on the American Civil War on top of that.

I will look into ordering this when I get more spare time (I am still bogged down by work and college.  I should probably be less bogged down starting around the second week of December or so, but I will get the book before then, that is for sure.  I have put off longer texts for now, given my busy schedule, and 146 pages will not take too long to read).
