Red Army

In State and Revolution one of those 4 major points of a Marxist state is no standing army but an armed populace.

What was the Red Army under Trotsky? To me (i know little of the subject) it seems like the Red Army was a standing army.

Also is there something to read? Something a little smaller than all 5 volumes of Trotskys military writings.

We need help from a man named Kalashnakov.  I mean honestly, there isn't a better way for a people to be fee control their destiny the means of production eliminate the threat of oppression explotation or imperialism then to be equipted with AK-47's.  I think that might have been one of the Mistakes in the Former USSR not creating an armed populace.  In truth it's why groups in America such as the NRA are so dominated by the Right wing and conservatives, as under a system governed by a ruling class the only segment of the population such a ruling class would be inclined to see exercising that right to bear arms are wealthy white males not the poor nor the majority of the prolitariate.  If there is to be a socialist revolution the left must rest control of organizations such and the NRA and the first target should be the members of the pro-gun control left.  But tell me what do you think?

Seems I might have struck a nerve with my pointed words about the "Wealthy white males".  Terms such as those always seem to spark a hostile response from those still harboring biggoted semtiments.  Well let's have a look at the history of the interactions between Biggots and the Red army of the past.  There was a man who wished to follow the model of the U.S. and it's expansion from it's east coast to the west coast.  He to was a biggot who belived in racial superiority, and so he said,  "let us expand the reich, and treat these inferior slav's like Redskins".  Well I'm no Stalinist but the world can be greatful that Stalin's Red army didn't go out the same way as Sitting Bull or Crazy Horse or Geronimo.  No it turned out that inspite of their belief in racial superiority and white supremicy those same "Inferior Slav's" were there standing over the charred and burned up corpses of the Nazi's.  And THAT was when the folly of that way of thinking was Truely realized!  Oh how Could these inferior half breed mongoloids have defeated our pure and superior white race?  Thus shall be the fate of ALL BIGGOTS!!  DEATH TO ALL BIGGOTS!

Petrel, don't assume that by target I mean to advocate violence again the Gun-Control Left.  No there best means to target an opponate is to go after the weak points in their minds.  You see Arming the population is in my view crucial to impowering it.  I've of the belief that a gun culture has all the governmental control it needs within it.  When one man has control of all the guns he can basically kill without fear of retribution but when all people in society have guns what emerges is society that inforces it's standards of justice collectively, communally infact.  This in my estimation is the means to acheive and end to class based oppression.  It's really a common sense approach you would be dettered from kicking a man's dog or slapping his wife if you know that he owned a Kalashnakov, and so did all the people in the town and everyone on the street and so forth and so on.

I must decline from answering your quest as to my location.  You see I'm all to interested in maintaining my anonimity.  Infact I was going to suggest to the moderators of this board a slight redesign if they'd be willing.  You see I also have a theory regarding people's ability to adopt communism in cyber space.  People speak and say what they really think and really believe when they can speak from a position of annomity.  The vast majority might feel fearful to speak out against injustice however if they can have assurance that they can remain anonmous then you might find huge numbers of people coming out in support of socialism and communism in fact.  It would be better if people could disucuss these things without having to supply their home E-mail address or other identifying information.  If you want to get at the truth of the will of the people they ought to be completly able to speak their will without any fear of retaliation.  And afterall isn't this what we are after the betterment of all not just the wealthy or the pervayors of capital nor the over privildged but ALL people.  if that's the case we should mobilizes the masses by creating a completely free forum in which all oppinions can be heard without censorship.

With anonymity it is probable that more people would speak. And in fact noone said you must tell us from which country you are from.

But I also believe that one who is not prepared to share even that little info,will never be able to stand for socialism in practice. (of course, if there are good reasons for hidding, then its not a problem).

Oh I wouldn't be so sure,  No on the contrary.  I physically am of little consiquence however my thoughts my ideals they can never be destroyed or killed.  Once an idea is born once a meeting of the minds takes place across the masses it becomes an irresistable force like the society that abandoned toiling with their burdens on their backs abandoned it's servitude after the idea of the wheel was spread to the masses.  Our real quandry here is that before there was the advent of  the wheel the whip was invented and before there were people working towards the good of all there were those ready whip in hand to whip the people into submission.  Whips can only go so far and a whip can never defeat an idea, the wheel is here and people prefer wheeling their good rather then being driven by whipps with burdens on their backs.   I am irrelivent,  Prometheus was irrelivent but the fire he gave to the people still burns.
