most respected/overrated socialist politicians

so, which socialist politician do you respect most?
On top of my list remains Gorbatchov, he made it possible to start over with socialism. and I admire his opposition to violence.
other socialist politians I respect are: Allende, Bebel and Liebknecht (founders of german socialdemocracy), Luxemburg, Plechanov and Gorky

mostly overrated: Lenin, because he is responsible for communism understood as violent and antidemocratic. many of his actions were the contrary of what Marx said should be done.
other overrated socialist politians: Thälmann, Mao, Castro
I guess nobody will defend Stalin, Chrustchov, Breshnev or leaders of eastern europe's autocrat socialisms.

oops, sorry... I'm still in the section Latin America, didn't notice. I guess this thread would rather belong into the general marxist discussions or something like that.
