I am wondering, has anyone got the invitation to the @gmail.com?

It sounds nice (1Gb of free space, really the best interface etc.), but on the other hand there are roumors that FBI and CIA are collecting the mail info you send and get. I do not know how this info is accurate, but for the best do not send any sensitive revolutionary info to @gmail.com addresses (send only big fat pirate films, mp3s etc. :D)

I got the invitation from a friend, while some people are so desperate and would even like to exchange their jobs for gmail.

Oh, you can get an original invitation by chance while browsing on google.com if you are lucky, the good thing is that you can then as well trade it if you dont like it - or make a swap and trade it for something better if you like to merchandise :D.

If you want to get it, make an offer to exchange it for an e-book they want, this is probably the easiest and cheapest way.

There's another service offering 1 GB, see http://mail.rediff.com/learnmore.htm . I created an account but it's a bit slow logging in. Also, you're never sure whether these companies will exist in a couple of years. I'll stay with good old Yahoo, which has recently upgraded its service to 100MB for free, which is more than enough for me. Capitalism ain't that bad :rolleyes:
