Hentai cannot be compared with porn really, since it certainly has not become a mainstream thing and it is not real people in it! So it doesn't affect the society and people in it very much, because even the biggest moron can't get any ideas about women/sexuality from it... And since the characters are drawn, there isn't the suffering of the workers either...
If you want to think what are the problems of hentai, than I'd say the occasional fascination with very young girls is a sick thing in it. Another problem is that the western book publishers don't always understand that hentai is no ordinary cartoon phenomenon and the idiots occasionally market it to kids...

I don't see any reason to ban it, but the two things I meantioned should be dealt with.  To be honest, I think the whole thing is quite funny really...  But if some people enjoy it...    :D

Well, I believe girls are potrayed as commodities in Hentai even more than in real porn movies, but no women suffers directly from it, of course.

And in Japan 13 year old kinds watch that and can legally buy it(according to the info I have gotten).

Has anyone noticed the new so-called 'reality porn'. For instance sites like http://www.coedsneedcash.com and http://www.bangbus.com. This is a new stage in porn, they actually take unsuspecting/poor girls off the street, have sex with them, and sell it on the internet without even asking.

Degrading? What kind of porn are you talking about. That is like saying just because one woman goes into the porn industry, it effects all women, WTF? Example, saying because one man does something, we are all that way. The problem is that feminist need to realize this is a matter of sterotyping. That can be fix without banning anything.

Porn and prostitution should be is none of the bussines of the state, but it should be bussines if it comes to rights of the porn actors/actress. I dunno about in a socialist society since I don't know where that would go. Since I am aware there is socially conservative marxist (around the world), this will be a big debate that you should end in a moderate way where both people can get want they want in the end.


On the other hand

People on local levels should deicede and regalate what they want. If its up to the people not the goverment.

So what? They are forced to sell their bodies to get money to pay for their education. Could there be a greater scandal, a greater condemnation of the system. Those people should be shot.

Well that's a definite no-no. It will lead to primitive accumulation, and all the old crap, exploitation, abuse of women etc. will revive. Those things must be banned and persecuted, but more importantly they must be made superfluous.

The only way to do that is to have a socially owned and planned pornography central like in the book, 1984.
